Tips to start up your Med-Fit Galaxy Pool
- Make sure your sand filter is filled with sand - please check your filter instruction manual for details
- Fill chlorinator with chlorine tablets
- Fill pooi with water to the middle of the skimmer line
- Set circulation pump ON/OFF times in your control box LX-80; with electric heater set pump ON-time 3-4 hours before clinic opening (with gas heater 1 hour before), OFF-time to closing time of clinic
- Check water temperature with floating thermostat when clinic opens in am - if temperature is not high enough start circulation pump earlier until you have found the desired setting
- Check your water chemistry such as chlorine and ph level daily
- Chlorine adjustment via control knob on chlorinator and/or via bypass valve (piped before chlorinator) to have more or less water run through chlorinator
- Note pressure gauge reading on filter - this is your starting pressure - and check your filter manual for pressure reading requiring filter backwash
- Know the location of your pool light on/off switch, the jet on/off switch (automatic shutoff time for jets can be set in your LX-80 control box), emergency shutoff switch, current generator on/off switch, and air control valve for the jets regulating the amount of air going through the jets
Tips for Pool Maintenance
- Check water chemistry daily
- Check water line daily and refill if necessary
- Drain pool as directed by your Health Department. If there are no Health Department guidelines we recommend in general 2-3 times per year provided pool chemistry is maintained properly. See instructions in your filter manual
- Filter backwash - required when pressure reading is approximately 10 psi above your original startup reading. Please check your filter manual for details
- Pool cleaning - we recommend using a local pooi cleaning service. For occasional cleanup you might also use a pole and pool brush to sweep debris towards the main drain; for pooi vacuuming use pole, hose, and appropriate vacuum brush attachment
